Women are Resourceful

Greetings women!

This is going to be a short and sweet message.  One of the most common e-mails I receive from women is requests for recommended resources for women’s empowerment, spirituality, shamanism, health, wellness, and so on.  So, as per the request of fellow women, below you can find a list of all of my favorite resources for the above topics!  While I could go on forever, I will leave you with these recommendations for now and add more later as they come to me.

Enjoy, go deep, and hope to connect with you in person in the future!

Blessings,

Ali

  • thank you!

    • My pleasure, Emily :)

  • Thanks so much for sharing these resources. The Belly & Womb Conference sounds great. I’ll have to see what’s around the CT/Maine area for workshops!

    • Kristin,

Where are you based out of? I live in Southern Maine, and you mentioned being interested in workshops in Maine so I was curious!!
      :)

  • Hey Ali!

Haha, how to answer that one!! My heart is in Rockland, but my body is split between CT and Rockland right now. I have been trying to move up to Maine for the better part of a year or so and have been having a hard time finding employment. We have a house we are renting right now as my boyfriend is there with one of our two dogs, and I am down in Connecticut with the other. I hope to move soon though…we aren’t set on Rockland but were there at first due to his apprenticeship at a wooden boat building school. Where in Maine are you??

    Kristin

    • Sounds like a fun journey ;)

We are in Southern Maine, in a small town called Shapleigh – Off to Arizona for the cold months this year though!

Maybe we can connect here in Maine sometime. xoxo

  • So funny…we love Arizona! We have been saying it would be nice to summer in Maine and winter in Arizona. I am antsy to go back and explore more of the ancient and sacred lands.

Would love to meet up in Maine sometime! Keep in touch, maybe we can make it work! :)

  • Hi Ali,
THanks for resource sharing. I’m curious about your feelings/thoughts about the work of S. Weed. Would you be willing to elaborate on that a bit more? THanks, Kt

    • Hi Kt!

I have a pretty clear stance on Susun’s teachings. I followed her work online for a few years and decided to go study with her under a work-trade for her Green Goddess apprenticeship. Long story short, I was so blown away by the way she treats her apprentices and work-trade staff that I left immediately. Without sharing too much of my own judgements I will leave it here: I would never encourage anyone to study with her in person.

Having said that, she is a great resource when it comes to plant identification, proper/practical use of herbs, and botanical education. Currently, I personally only choose to follow her work as far as her weekly herbal e-zine. I find there is always wealth of great info in those as well as nice recipes for making herbal medicine. Outside of that, I don’t have interest following her work further.

One last piece – There are many beliefs she stands firm on that I don’t agree with, i.e. only using pasteurized apple cider vinegar for vinegar extractions. I personally only believe in using unpasteurized products, so there are some things like that she chooses to do which I fully do not resonate with :)

Thanks for asking this question! I have a lot of opinions and feelings on this topic matter so I hope I’ve helped a bit here!

      Blessings,

      Ali

Words of Wisdom

"Within every woman there is a wild, and natural creature ~ A powerful force, filled with good instincts, passionate creativity, and ageless knowing. Her name is Wild Woman, but she is an endangered species. Though the gifts of the wildish nature come to us at birth, societies attempt to "civilize" us into rigid roles has plundered this treasure and muffled the deep, life-giving messages of our own souls. Without Wild Woman, we become over-domesticated, fearful, uncreative, trapped..." ~ Clarissa Pinkola Estes
