Alas, Another Dose from the Pill
Last year here on my blog, I covered the topics of pheromones (you can find that post here). Pheromones are the scents produced by our hormones, which are
excreted from our bodies. These scents, our pheromones, serve various purposes, among signaling sexual attraction, alarm, fear, etc. Our pheromones are how we attract a partner. This is generally an unconscious process, but nonetheless, how we subconsciously evaluate our mate’s immune system and whether they are compatible to us.
Upon sharing my piece about pheromones on my website, a friend linked me to an article relative to pheromones and how pheromones relate to the partners we attract. The article described a study done on Women who were using the birth control pill as a contraceptive and the men they attracted as partners, as compared to Women who were not on synthetic contraceptives.
It has been known for some time, that the birth control pill tweaks our hormones. Tweak is really an understatement. The “pill” totally ravages our endocrine system. It sends our body into a state of thinking it is pregnant, by heightening our progesterone levels significantly, and then abruptly dropping, upon the ending of the cycle of pills. In more common terms, the “pill” gives users a monthly abortion.
The study brought awareness to the fact that because of the hormonal imbalance from the pill, Women involved in the study were attracting the wrong type of man for them. According to the study, the imbalance of hormones induced by the pill, seems to alter the type of pheromones a Woman is attracted to in a man. The hormones in the pill influence a Woman’s assessment of male sexual attractiveness. The study showed that Women literally became attracted to men who were genetically incompatible for them. Hmm… Synthetic hormones = Synthetic partner? Sounds like it.
Women are naturally attracted to men who have immune system genes different from their own. We sense this through their pheromones. The hormones in the pill were attracting Women to men who had immune system genes similar to their own. We purposely attract the opposite sex with different immune genes from us for a variety of reasons. A wide range of immune genes passed on from a couple to their offspring decreases the child’s vulnerability to disease, the couple is less likely to experience fertility problems and/or miscarriages, etc.

Not only is it a problem that the pill was influencing Women to attract the wrong man genetically, but it was found that when Women went off the pill, they lost their attraction to their partner and relationships fell apart. Any correlation to the massive amounts of divorce in society today, since the abundant use of birth control has taken reign? Potentially! Subconsciously, Women must realize once their hormones are not under the influence of the pill, that the man that are with isincompatible for them due to the mismatched genetics. On the surface, it seems the relationship is simply deteriorating, when in fact, there is much more to the story. How interesting! But how unfortunate… Not only are our feminine bodies being manipulated with these synthetic substances, but the pill is controlling our senses! So, Women are riding the emotional roller coaster due to the hormonal balance from the pill, but also from being in a relationship unsuitable for them on a cellular level! Fascinating!
Reading this article, I made a connection; Had a realization. I may have gone through this exact experience. I started using the birth control pill at age 13-14 and stayed on it for a few years, having many relationships, in search of the right partner. The year that I chose to stop the use of the pill (about 5 years ago), I was two years deep into a relationship. We were totally into one another – Moved across the country to California together, got our own house, etc., etc. While in California, my quest for health began and I discontinued the use of the pill. Looking back on the experience, the relationship really began spiraling downward immediately after my discontinuation of using birth control pills. My sexual attraction to my partner ceased abruptly. I never wanted to spend time around him. He had me on edge constantly. It was a mess. I never understood what the problem was between us. Where did the connection go? The more I furthered my passion for health and alternative lifestyle, the more my hormones began regulated, my moods feeling more stable – I was so happy! How could I feel so good in my own being, but so unhappy with my partner? Now I know the answer. It may seem like a dramatic statement, but this truth about the pill makes so much sense. It literally calls in a partner that is totally wrong for us. On a level of genetics, no less!
I am happy to say that I have been off the pill for quite a few years now. I am more tuned into my hormones and endocrine system than ever, and feel healthier that I could have imagined. The old relationship I mentioned ended in due time, as clearly he was not the match for me. Since then, I have attracted a partner whom I connected to naturally, without the influence of synthetic hormones and our relationship couldn’t be more magickal and balanced. Going by the ideas listed in the study, I clearly have now attracted a partner whose genetics are opposite mine, creating a perfect balance of attraction between us! My body picked up on this naturally, on a subconscious level, having not been influenced by synthetic hormones circulating in my system this time
This study simply brings to the surface yet another dramatic hindrance that the pill can project into our lives. It is unfortunate that Women are fooled into thinking that they need to dose themselves with these hormones to control their fertility; Commonly, to please their husband and withhold from conceiving. Rather than disempowering our bodies and immersing ourselves in relationships that aren’t fit for us, let’s pursue a natural way of life, calling in the partner who is truly made for us, who’s genetics are a perfect match! We don’t need the synthetics… We just need our authentic selves!

Back in Action!
About time I got this back up and running, eh?
Other callings in Life have had my attention recently, leaving little time for entries on here! Well, now I am back with more to share than ever.
My blogs purpose initially was to share stories about my Life Experiences that I felt would inspire and/or aid people on their Path. I plan to continue sharing profound Experiences I have as they arise (which is frequent
but I am also going to focus on writing about topics, mainly in the area of Women’s Health (for that is where my passion lies), that will provide beneficial knowledge to You All!
On that note, today I want to discuss the importance of the Female hormone, <strong>Progesterone</strong>. For Women, Progesterone is considered our “happy” hormone. It is the precursor of all other steroid and sex hormones, and allows their production ~ Vital for hormonal health. Healthy hormones are important for a variety of physical and emotional reasons which I could go on about for hours; Basically, hormonal balance avoids the series of health issues that arise from a dominance of any one hormone (such as excessive Estrogen leading to breast cancer,) helps to create a fully functioning immune system, allows us to deal with stress properly, and have general happiness! Not only is Progesterone the precursor for the other steroid and sex hormones, but it also modulates those hormones to create balance. Balanced hormones aid balanced health in many areas.
Back to our happy hormone ~ Progesterone is our Essence (or Essential) hormone. As Women, Progesterone helps us to tune into our bodies and reconnect with our Feminine. Women have a powerful and nurturing connection to the Earth/life in general, and all it takes is tapping into our inner Goddess to resurface that connection which has simply been lost, or forgotten over the years for many Women. Balancing our hormones is a step toward tuning back in. Stress is an epidemic in Western society today. Progesterone is anti-stress, and plays a huge role in our ability to process stressful situations and emotions. Coping with stress in a calm manner leads to stable emotions, therefore ~ A happy Woman!
Progesterone protects against disease and dysfunction common amongst Women these days, such as breast cancer, uterine cancer, fibrocystic breasts, endometriosis, and general premenstrual symptoms. This amazing hormone is totally necessary for the survival of the embryo and fetus through pregnancy. A deficiency of Progesterone, or dominance of estrogen can cause a miscarriage. Progesterone facilitates the proper function of the thyroid hormones, as well. A regulated thyroid maintains a weight that is healthy for our individual body. Hypothyroidism (excessive weight gain) and hyperthyroidism (excessive weight loss) are common amongst the population today, especially hypothyroidism due to lack of exercise and the plague of processed and fast foods (which will for sure, aid in imbalanced hormones!) That said, Progesterone helps us to sustain our healthy body size; Along with a proper diet, exercise, and state of mind of course!
It is all about rebuilding. Yes, there is a significant pollution of xenostrogens (industrial made compounds that differ chemically, but mimic naturally occurring estrogens) in the world through our overuse of chemicals and plastics which are leading to many degenerative diseases and reproductive issues. How can we move forward from this? Lets look at ways to build our Progesterone levels as Women, empowering our health and therefore well-being! There are over 5,000 plants containing Progesterone. Wow. I still have a lot of learning to do in what those 5,000 plants are, but I do know some easily accessible sources for getting Progesterone into your body.
The plant source that I am most familiar with which helps to increase the production of Progesterone is Wild Yam. There is conflicting information out there about Wild Yam, saying that it contains high amounts of Progesterone, but I have also heard is that contains no Progesterone; It just contains constituents which facilitate the production of Progesterone. I have used this herb for quite some time and I have experienced success with relieving pre-menstrual symptoms; the use of Wild Yam being a part of that. Large doses of Wild Yam can be work as a contraceptive as well, so if you are trying to become pregnant, I would avoid excessive use of this herb. If you are interested in details about using Wild Yam, feel free to consult me for more information (<strong>gaiascouts@gmail.com</strong>)
In my experience, the source that has elevated my levels of Progesterone most significantly, has been raw dairy. As a hormone, Progesterone is strictly fat-soluble. Hence, Progesterone creams which are used commonly these days among Women, because the creams are absorbed through the oils of the skin. What I have discovered as to why raw dairy is so successful in getting Progesterone into the body is because the animal producing the milk has elevated levels of Progesterone due to ovulation (the time when Progesterone levels are highest) which makes its transferred into the milk. I have found that raw butter is the most superior source to derive Progesterone from, because it is the fat from the milk, thus having the most concentration of Progesterone. Because raw butter is pure fat and Progesterone is fat-soluble, it is a perfect solution to sourcing Progesterone! I came to this conclusion after I restarted my menstrual cycle after eating raw butter consistently for two weeks, after not having my cycle for three months. I also researched my conclusion to find the data to back it up.
I must emphasize the importance that the dairy be raw, organic, and grass-fed! Pasteurized dairy will eliminate all of the vital minerals and importantly, the Progesterone. Raw butter and cream will be a Women’s best bet for getting Progesterone into the body efficiently. Fat is essential for Women’s Health. We need a whole lot of it! Good fat, that is. Cream and butter are great. Go ahead and eat as much of it as you want! Don’t worry about gaining weight from it either. When you have raw, organic cream and butter for your first time, you will want a lot of it! Trust me
Raw dairy is illegal to sell in stores, so you will have to source out a local farm. You can do this through word of mouth, of course ~ But a great source online to find a farm near you is <strong>www.realmilk.com</strong> ~ They list tons of farms in every state! You can also try googling farms in your state as well and places will usually come up.
Heres to healthy, happy hormones ladies!

Moontime
Talk about a long time, eh? I have been off the grid, technologically! It has felt good to be disassociated from machine use for a bit. Instead of focusing much on the outward physical World, I have been looking more inward. It has been the occurrences on the physical level that have sent me deeper within, though. Where to even begin with what is new? Much has happened since I wrote last; Many changes… Out with some old, in with some new.
I’m going to take it to a personal level with this one – This New Moon has brought up some intense stuff for me this month, and I see as Powerful enough to share. Guys, but don’t shy away! You can benefit from the info too …
For awhile now, I have been tuning into the Moons Energy more and more. As Women, we are the connectors of Moon to Earth. The Moon is the primary symbol for Female Energy. It takes the Moon about twenty-nine days to cycle around the earth; Aligning with the fact most Women go through their menstrual cycles every twenty-eight or nine days. Traditionally, Women always ovulated at the Full Moon, and bled at the New Moon. Many native cultures and tribes, such as the Native Americans, celebrated the time of Menstruation for the Women in their tribe. Women hold a special power during this time. A certain creativity, Empowerment, Gaia-esque Embodiment. Also, the fact that we are able to bleed every month and not die; That is power if I’ve ever seen it! In these cultures, Women would hold what they called, “moon lodges”, where all the Women would gather at the New Moon to honor this sacred time. Back then, Women were more in-sync with the Moon and there was much less toxic estrogen pollution going on, so Women would experience their “Moon cycles” as I like to call it, all at the same time, with the New Moon. Ever notice how Women who live together, or are around one another often, cycle at the same time?T he problem currently, is that society has deemed menstruation as a “problem” for Women, when it really should be Embraced for its Holiness. Between that, and the immense pollution of toxic xenoestrogens (chemical pollutants) in the world through plastic, processed soy, herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, etc. leaving us overly estrogenized, with imbalanced hormones and detached from the connection to Grandmother Moon.
Okay, now that I have done my download on our relationship with the Moon, I will share my experience. Since I began consciously paying attention to my Moon cycles for better part of the last year, I have noticed that I have been on track with the Moons phases, i.e. cycling at the new moon, ovulating at the full. However, this fall I was thrown off. Ready to align with the moon in September, I did not. Assuming it to be a glitch in the hormonal Matrix, I let it slip my mind. It was when the beginning of November rolled around that I really began to question what was up. Not only were my hormones imbalanced (I’m not pregnant, for the record), but I was having digestive issues too! No fun! I was eating very healthy, on tons of herbal medicine, exercising/training daily… How was I imbalanced, I wondered? My Instinct was communicating to me that something was missing from my health Quest, but I had yet to find what that was. Well, raw dairy was making an appearance more and more in my life, through articles popping up about its benefits, people around me talking about it… Lets just say, the idea of consuming it had entered my Consciousness. It just so happened that I wound up at a friends house who is an advocate for raw dairy, and they introduced me to raw milk and raw butter. I don’t hold a dogmatic vision of perfect health, and I am open to new areas in the realm of nutrition, as long as they make sense and resonate with my body. By the way, Ancient Cultures have been consuming fermented dairy products forever, such as kefir, butter, and yogurt.
Anyway, after experiencing real milk and butter, not the homogenized, pasteurized toxicity that is sold in stores, I knew it was something special. Not only does it taste amazing, but it made me feel great. (Raw butter is the best ever, just to throw that out there
So, I sought out some local Vermont farmers to produce raw milk and raw butter. I began consuming both on a daily basis. I had been eating both products regularly for about two weeks, when the new moon of November came around on the 16/17th.. Guess what else came around? My long lost moon cycle! What do you know… Two weeks of raw dairy, giving me all of the hormones and fats my body was lacking, treating my thyroid, giving me Vitamins D, E, K, and so much more – and BAM! I’m aligned with the Moon again. Empowering, or what?! Yes – It was a stretch of my comfortable boundaries to incorporate dairy into my lifestyle again, but it was obvious that a change needed to take place. Not to mention – My struggles with digestion were completely healed with the incorporation of raw dairy. Basically, the conclusion I came to was that I was severely deficient in natural hormones and fats necessary to have a regular cycle and function properly. If I think about it, being a post-raw-vegan (I hesitate to even use terms that puts us in classifications by health), all I can even think to where I was sourcing fat from was coconut oil, which after detoxification, eventually strips our bodies of hormones! Where was I even getting naturally occurring hormones?! It is so obvious now.
As intimate as that story may have been, I want plant that consciousness of connecting with the Moon in women’s thought pattern because it is so important. We need to embrace our sacred powers and harness them. I will be organizing a monthly Moon lodge in Vermont for women to gather in honor, starting in the next month or two.
